Do you need help dealing with aging or end-of-life decisions?
Such decisions can be particularly difficult as people cross over from middle age to their later years. Members of the WBC family are willing and able to help individuals and their families make these decisions well. Members of the Crossings ministry are available at WBC to help you and your loved ones grapple biblically with aging and end-of-life challenges such as:
- Options and resources for caring for your loved one—at home and in other facilities
- Adapting activities (e.g., driving) to decreasing functional ability
- Understanding pain intervention options
- Making decisions about end-of-life medical treatments
- Knowing when to use hospice or palliative care
- Living wills, durable powers of attorney for health care, and other legal issues
What you can expect from the Crossings ministry:
- One or several resource people to meet with you to help you clarify your needs
- Assistance in making important decisions
- Christian perspective to help you understand and cope with the challenges before you
- Referral to other resources and professionals for needs this ministry cannot meet
- A lay ministry, not a replacement for medical, legal or other professional help
To request help from a Crossings ministry resource person:
- Email crossings@wbc.org or call WBC at 847-446-7523
- Please indicate in which of the six general categories above you need assistance
- A visit from the pastoral care visitation team may be requested instead or in addition
