Winnetka Bible Church is a non-denominational, Bible-based ministry whose purpose is to glorify God by being a growing and thriving biblical community where the Gospel of Jesus Christ transforms lives, moves believers to greater maturity and is shared compassionately with our North Shore neighbors and around the world.
In 1894, a few Swedish domestics serving families on the North Shore began meeting for home Bible Studies. Eventually, a Church was established in March of 1904 that today is Winnetka Bible Church. In just a few months the new church sent out their first full time missionaries. This treasured heritage and worthy tradition has continued as each generation sends out new missionaries. Over the intervening years many changes have occurred but two things remain the same - faithful preaching of the Word of God and sending out many missionaries around the world to spread the good news of salvation. Today, we not only have a church building with a gym and many classrooms, but also Crowell Hall, a building to house missionaries while they are visiting on furlough. Truly the sun never sets on WBC missionaries. For the Glory of God until Christ returns.
